    The Little Dalmatians of the Coop!

    The Ermine Ameraucana is one of the most exciting and unique color projects in the Ameraucana world. With their striking black-and-white pattern, I lovingly call them the little Dalmatians of the chicken coop.

    My Ermine breeding program is heavily focused on genetics, egg color consistency, and improving silver-base expression within the line. All breeding birds in this pen are DNA tested for:
    • Homozygous Blue Egg Gene (O/O)
    • Negative for Recessive White.

    One of my biggest long-term goals is building a strong silver-based Ermine flock. This is a slow process that takes years of selective breeding, but I’m already seeing approximately 40% of my hatches expressing silver base instead of gold base.

    The way I have my pens set up here is what you can hatch
    Possible chicks may include:
    ✅ Ermine
    ✅ Black
    ✅ Dominant White

    You may also see both silver-base (whiteish) and gold-base birds (more yellowish) at hatch.

    Dominant White birds are NOT the same as recessive White Ameraucanas. These birds are part of the Ermine project genetics and often display different leg coloration and pattern traits compared to traditional White Ameraucanas.  With my hatches if you get a solid white bird, you will not have to test or second guess if it is recessive white or Dominant white, it WILL BE Dominant white since I have zero recessive white in my birds
