White Ameraucana – APA-Approved Recessive White

Our White Ameraucanas are a stunning, snow-white variety of this beloved breed. Unlike dominant white, which is used to breed ermines, these birds carry the recessive white gene, as recognized by the American Poultry Association (APA).

These hardy, adaptable birds are prolific layers of light blue eggs, excellent foragers, and thrive in various climates, including cold winters. Their fluffy beards, muffs, and slate-colored legs add to their striking appearance and classic Ameraucana charm.

Chick Coloration & Development:
At hatch, chicks may have a gray tint, which is a desirable trait! Darker gray down at hatch indicates less sun bleaching as they mature, ensuring a brilliant, pure white adult plumage. Additionally, while chicks may hatch without slate-colored legs, their leg color transitions over the first week, unlike Dominant whose legs will remain pink
