If you're looking for a beautiful blue egg layer with a TON of personality, Cream Legbars are a wonderful addition to your flock!

These birds are chatty, active, curious, and fantastic foragers. Mine are usually the first ones at the gate to see what I'm doing. They have to investigate EVERYTHING! 🤣

And the eggs? Gorgeous, large SKY BLUE eggs, and lots of them!

🧬 My Cream Legbar Breeding Program

My Cream Legbars are an important part of my breeding program, not only for their beautiful blue eggs but also because I use them in several of my custom hybrid projects.

My breeding stock has been DNA tested for:

• Blue Egg Gene: O/O (Homozygous) — two copies of the blue egg gene.
• Recessive White: Negative — my tested breeding birds do not carry recessive white.

Most of my flock consists of true Cream Legbars. However, I do have a few birds that are split for Cream (Creole) in this pen.

Because of this, you may hatch both Cream Legbars and Creole-colored birds carrying one copy of the recessive cream gene.

My primary focus with this flock is beautiful blue egg color, rather than breeding exclusively for show-quality Cream coloring.

I've included a photo of a Cream split/Creole bird so you can see the difference!

🐣 Autosexing — Know Your Boys From Your Girls!

One of the BEST things about Cream Legbars is that they're an autosexing breed!

That means male and female chicks typically have different down patterns at hatch, allowing you to identify their sex without waiting for them to grow up.

• Females: Usually have a distinct dark stripe running from the top of the head down the back, along with darker eye markings.
• Males: Generally have a lighter appearance, a pale head spot, and less distinct eye stripes.

Pretty neat, right?!

Please note: Because I have some Cream-split birds in this breeding pen, chick markings can vary. Autosexing accuracy should not be assumed for every chick from this project pen.
