Marsbar Hybrid Olive Egger

PLEASE READ: This is a hybrid cross, meaning the offspring will not breed true. The eggs you receive will be BLUE, but the offspring you hatch will lay OLIVE eggs!

The Marsbar Hybrid Olive Egger is a unique first-generation cross between a Black Copper Marans rooster and Cream Legbar hens. The chicks will have adorable tufts and feathered legs. Known for their stunning olive eggs and excellent egg production, these hens are a wonderful addition to any flock. A fascinating feature of this hybrid is the ability to sex the chicks at hatch: female chicks will be solid black, while males will have a distinct dot on their heads.

FUN FACT: To ensure the offspring lay gorgeous olive eggs, we use one of our darkest BCM roosters in the breeding process.

The females of this cross mature into sleek black birds, adorned with hints of copper in their hackles and charming, modest crests. Their olive eggs are a beautiful result of the cross between a dark brown egg layer and a blue egg layer.

The cockerels of this hybrid exhibit barred plumage and may also show copper accents in their hackles. These birds grow to be a good size and make excellent guardians for your backyard flock.
