Welsummers, sometimes called Wellies are such a fun friendly breed and no two eggs are the same. Our goal with this breed is to only work with fun speckles and it is a continued work in progress. FUN FACT, did you know the Kellogg's Corn Flake Rooster, "Cornelius" is a Welsummer!
IMPORTANT to understand. When Welsummer pullets first start laying the speckles are normally small and tight. Be patient and watch those speckles change in the next few months as she figures out her ink cartridge. Also, he egg speckles will change every day, no 2 eggs will be laid the same!
Egg production is actually much better than the BCM girls and they lay a LARGE beautiful egg.
Another awesome feature is they are sexable at hatch! The female has the eye liner look with the dark line extending beyond her eye towards her ear. On the male, that same line is light and blurry. Similarly, if you look at the triangle on the top of their head, on the female it is dark and clearly defined, the male's triangle is lighter and the edges are not clearly defined. I do not sell just females as I actually find it pretty hard to tell at hatch. Some breeders are awesome with Welsummers and sexing, I am not there yet
